Level 3 Award in Higher Sports Leadership (Age 17+)

The Level 3 Award in Higher Sports Leadership is a nationally recognised qualification that enables successful candidates to lead un-supervised groups of people in sport and recreational activities. This qualification builds upon the skills and experience gained through the Level 2 Award in Community Sports Leadership. There are 120 guided learning hours (including 30 hours of demonstration).

The qualification teaches generic leadership skills such as organisation, planning, communication and teamwork through the medium of sport. It is a fun and practical qualification, with the only entrance requirement being that candidates should have successfully completed the Level 2 Award in Community Sports Leadership; however there are no final examinations to sit.

Level 2 Award in Community Sports Leadership (Age 16+)

The Level 2 Award in Community Sports Leadership is a nationally recognised qualification that enables successful candidates to independently lead small groups of people in sport and recreational activities. The qualification teaches generic leadership skills such as organisation, planning, communication and teamwork through the medium of sport. It is a fun and practical qualification with no entrance requirements or final examinations to sit. There are 35 guided learning hours (plus 10 hours of demonstration).

Day Certificate in Sports Leadership (Age 16+)

The Day Certificate has been designed to support adults in a variety of different settings including community groups, primary and secondary schools, uniformed organisations and sports clubs that are affiliated to the local authority. There are 7 tutored hours.

Women, Get Set, Go! Award (Age 14+)

This is a personal development programme that has been specifically designed for women and girls. It encourages females to enter into community leisure leadership positions, and to develop their involvement both for their own benefit and for the benefit of the community in general.

F.A. Junior Football Organisers Award (Age 14+)

This course is designed to support young people 14+ develop and enhance the skills needed to lead groups of children from the aged 6 years in safe purposeful football activities.

Level 1 Award in Sports Leadership (Age 14+)

The Level 1 Award in Sports Leadership is a nationally recognised qualification that enables successful candidates to lead small groups in simple sport and recreational activities whilst under the direct supervision of their Tutor.

The qualification teaches generic leadership skills such as organisation, planning, communication and teamwork through the medium of sport. It is a fun and practical qualification with no entrance requirements or final examinations to sit.Please note, there is no upper age limit for this application. Guided Learning hours – 30 hours (plus one hour demonstration of leadership)

The award encourages women and girls to communicate with confidence, value their own skills, understand how the world of sport and leadership works, and to develop a personal action plan for their future involvement in sports leadership.It is for Women and girls age 14+ and there is no upper age limit for this qualification). The course length is 15 hours on average.

Young Leader Award (Age 9 to 13 years)

The Young Leader Award is a programme of leadership training for young people between the ages of nine and 13 that promotes them working with younger children, teaching leadership skills through a range of games and activities. The Young Leader Award has been designed for use in a variety of different delivery settings, including primary and secondary schools, uniformed organisations and sports and community groups. There are 6 to 10 tutored hours.

The award responds to the individual needs of each organisation and its Young Leaders through a flexible, differentiated programme. The award focuses on specific skills such as giving instructions, the organisation of people and equipment, and the use of space. Rather than breaking leadership down into its constituent parts, the award teaches these topics through a practical, activity based, holistic approach. In this way, the Young Leaders ‘learn by doing’ and, by the end of the course, will not only have the confidence and ability to lead others but will also have knowledge and experience of an extensive range of games and activities.
