Sports & Leisure Education Programme Overview

This is a 1 year non playing programme for those that would like to pursue a non playing career in the football or sports industry as a fitness instructor Individuals will undertake the Level 2 CYQ Fitness Instructor Qualification and in addition, the Level 2 CYQ Spinning and Level 2 CYQ Circuit qualifications.
 

Learners will cover:

  • Anatomy and physiology including:
    - the heart and circulatory system
    - the respiratory system
    - structure and function of the skeleton
    - musculoskeletal system
    - postural and core stability
    - the nervous and energy systems and their relation to exercise

  • Planning, preparing and delivering safe and effective gym-based exercise programmes

  • Programming safe and effective exercise for a range of clients

  • The health benefits of physical activity and the importance of healthy eating

  • Motivating and communicating effectively with clients Health, safety and welfare

What Qualifications can I get?

BTEC Level 3 Diploma

and Extended Diploma in Sport

The BTEC Level 3 in Sport qualifications upon completion, can lead to University progression. Individuals are taught

all aspects of sport across a range of units.

 

Individuals are assessed through their written course work, practical application and also through two exams.

What Qualifications do I need?

To Undertake -
BTEC Level 3 Diploma

and Extended Diploma in Sport

To undertake the Level 3, individuals will require  GCSE grades at 4 or above including  Maths and/or English*.

*Dependent on Campus location.
